Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC)
Launched in May 2009, the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) is federal program administered by Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) focused on renewing, upgrading and expanding recreational infrastructure in Canadian communities. RInC applications are processed federally, and those identifying provincial funding sources are forwarded to the province for consideration of financial support. As of February 2010, 147 projects were approved under RInC, 57 of which received a total of over $14.7 million in federal-provincial funding. Ninety received federal-only funding of over $9 million.
The Canada-Manitoba Infrastructure Secretariat is responsible for co-ordinating provincial contributions towards CAF projects. The deadline for projects funded under RInC has been extended from March 31, 2011 to October 31, 2011. (
