Overview
Under the Canada-Manitoba Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), the governments of Canada and Manitoba continue to work together and in partnership with community stakeholders to promote and support long-term, sustainable economic development in Manitoba.

The Agreement builds upon a strong foundation of co-ordinated federal, provincial and regional economic development programming. It is tailored specifically to support innovative projects that benefit our communities through fostering economic development and strengthening the skill sets of Manitobans.

The EPA Agreement, renewed January 22, 2009, provides $50 million for programs and projects over five years, made up of matching contributions of $25 million each from Canada and Manitoba. This Agreement will focus on five strategic priorities:
  • supporting knowledge-based research and development;
  • increasing value-added production;
  • supporting trade and investment promotion;
  • enhancing productivity and competitiveness; and
  • promoting economic development through tourism opportunities.
