Gateways and Border Crossings Fund (GBCF)
Projects
Manitoba has received funding commitments under GBCF for:
- $21 million in federal funding was approved in October 2007 for a new interchange at Provincial Trunk Highway 1 & PTH 16 with an overpass over the CNR mainline.
- $42.5 million in federal funding was announced on September 5, 2008 under the GBCF for improvements to Highway 75 for reconstruction, rehabilitation and safety projects through the Town of Ste. Agathe to St. Jean Baptiste, including the Bridge over the Plum River.
- $22 million in federal funding approved in October 2007 under the GBCF to cost-share improvements to the Hudson Bay rail line and the Port of Churchill. The total project cost is $68 million, with Omnitrax’s, and the Manitoba and the Federal governments’, contribution $20 million each to the rail line with remaining funds for the port.
